I’ve been seeing a lot of bloggers doing ‘What’s In My bag?’ type posts recently and I don’t like feeling left out, so I’m inviting myself to join in.
I also actually really like these types of posts… I’m not really sure why, but I guess I’m just curious and it does say a lot about a person and a peak into their daily lives.
So let’s get started! My Valentino Le Maison bag was a gift from my dad on my 20th birthday. I asked for it but warned him that it’s so expensive so I’ll pay for part of it. My dad agreed, but my mom later said it’s not a real gift if I have to pay for part of it. Thank you, Mom! So on my 20th birthday I received it. It’s the perfect bag for me – everyone who first saw the bag kept saying it’s so “me”. I love it so much I named it Rocco, ’cause it looks so rock and roll. Geddit?
HOWEVER! Valentino – are you reading this? It’s 1 1/2 years old and it’s already getting ripped at the sides, and I need to take it for repair. For that price I would’ve thought it’d last better. Ugh!
Here’s what else is in my bag…
Sunglasses - My favorite accessory, ever. I’ve lost several sunglasses in the past so I am SO careful about these ones because they are perfect! I bought these in Milan last summer from a really great sunglasses shop in the city. Sunglasses are the ultimate accessory, I think.
Wallet - The Prada wallet is almost 3 years old but you would never know it, right? I had wallets before that would last 9 months max before it fell apart, so for my 19th birthday I splurged for something more ‘solid’. I picked this timeless, classic design because I’m planning to use it for the rest of my life!
Gadgets - My phone and iPod are the first things I check before I leave the house. Especially my iPod – I cannot live without this thing! I’d give up my phone forever instead of my iPod. Well, until I got a Blackeberry, that is, so maybe it’s both… I was never a phone person until recently. I’d never answer phone calls and for days at a time I’d leave the thing under my bed, collecting dust… Until I got my Blackberry last week. I mean, WHERE HAVE I BEEN? I can do everything on it. I’m now an addict!
Makeup - I don’t carry makeup around with me (shock! horror!) but I carry lip balms. I just buy them and dump them in my bag and restock my supply every year, I think. Nivea and Maybelline are great, but Rosebud? Best. Lipbalm. Ever. (My post on what’s inside my makeup bag is here.)
Business card holder - My dad’s friend gave him this cardholder from Korea. Pretty, no? My dad gave it to me – I plan to fill it with Beauty Fool business cards, hopefully I will get some printed soon. I designed it myself and can’t wait to show you!
Hair crap - Singapore is so hot, I have to have hairbands with me. I normally put some on my wrists but as you can see, I always have backup! I don’t know what the hairbrush is doing there, though. I never use it and it is OLD. My mother put this in my elementary (!!!) school bag years ago because she says my hair is always in a mess. “But it’s my look, Mom!” I cried for years. “IT’S CALLED BEDHEAD!” She doesn’t get it. Somehow this brush has been transferred to all my bags after all thee years.
And that’s it! I forgot to add my keys but then again you probably know what they look like!
What’s in your handbag? If you’re a blogger and have done this type of post before, please share! If not – what is your top item you never leave home without? Mine is now a toss up between my iPod and Blackberry.

Benefit Benetint and lip balm. I never have to re-apply to my cheeks but if I want to look a bit fresh after work I will put some on my lips! xx

Oh I have heard great things about Benetint. They have a duo end lipbalm/stain version, don’t they? That would be great in your bag!
I like this post. I´ll do mine soon so I can share with you the Mexican version of “What’s in my bag?” Take care!

Haha, I do too – I just did a cleaning before I did this post! I had all sorts of flyers and random pieces of paper. Maybe do a bit of a spring cleaning and then just add the ‘important’ stuff?
It’s great that you carry around those essentials, I carry around tons of crap that I never use, then maybe rotate that crap out with some other crap every few months…except for my band-aids. I need those!
Hahaha “rotate the crap every few months”. I do the same with paper and flyers and whatnot. It’s normal to have crap in our bags, haha!
Your bag is beautiful! I don’t carry makeup with me either, just lip balm. I can’t leave without it.

Thanks, Sesame. I adore my bag as well, my best buy ever! Seems we are the opposite when it comes to combs/hairbrushes
I definitely cannot leave my iPod, or my cute little square sketchbook.
I love your bag, it’s gorgeous!
Thanks so much, Michaela! I love Rocco too, too bad about the tearing :@ So mad about that! Oh I love the idea of a little sketchbook in your bag, since you’re an artist
I wanted to buy a notebook too but I want a really cute one and haven’t found that perfect one yet
