UFOs and Other Unexplainable Things

… like my dad’s special brand of English.

You’d think after 28 years of living here his pronunciation would be a little better. My mom and I are always in stitches over the things he says, it’s so funny and endearing. (For example, he calls tiramisu TI-RA-SU-MI.) This is his latest gem…

“My colleague in Denmark worked out in the fields and he’d always say he saw strange things in the sky, like an oofo.”

“A WHAT?”

“Ooo-foh.”

“Dad, do you mean UFO?”

HAHAHAHA. He’s hilarious. I was talking about the government covering stuff up about UFOs… I’m about 51% sure they exist. I remember when I was in grade school I was OBSESSED with space/aliens/UFOS. I kinda want a poster of a planet on my wall again, circa 2nd grade… it will look awesome next to my lava lamp. (Yes, I’m a 7 year old boy on the inside!)

It is quite weird but I love it! It’s so cute and funny how I can never understand anything, haha. Always makes for fun conversations! :-P

Ahaha love it!
That’s just like my mum (she’s Chinese), once we were in a shop buying bathers etc.. and mum goes up to the counter and says “Do you have any goooogles?” the man just looked confused, so I had to jump in and say “She means goggles” =)
