Introducing the MAC Beauty Workshop

Earlier this month, I attended my very first makeup workshop by one of my favorite makeup brands – MAC! Hosted at the Singapore Estee Lauder offices and brought to you by Twofold, the workshop was a cozy and intimate afternoon of makeup fun!

I was there as a guest to “review” the workshop, and if I would recommend to my readers, I’d do a blog post on it. Well, I’m glad to say I definitely would! If you’re looking to kick start your makeup routine and learn a whole lot about makeup (and play with it!) then I highly recommend this workshop. First, the good bit: the price. It is $150 for the 2 hour long workshop, but you get a $120 MAC voucher where you can go shopping afterwards. So the workshop in itself is $30, which is definitely worth it. While I’d say it’s more for beginner’s – I knew most of the stuff taught there – I did learn a few things about makeup application for certain face shapes and eye shapes, which I found very useful.

Here’s a look through at what you’ll learn at the workshop:

  • Skincare Basics: The importance of a regular skincare regime, and how skincare aids in makeup application and removal.
  • Tools: Understanding the different makeup tools and their different usage
  • Makeup application: Foundation, Concealer, Contouring/Highlighting, Powder, Brows, Eyeshadow, Mascara, Blusher and Lipstick.

During each segment, you are free to ask questions at any time and there are two assitants in the classroom to help you out as well. After, there are cupcakes and refreshments, and it’s also nice to meet fellow beauty addicts! ;) Overall it was a very nice Saturday afternoon and would definitely recommend the workshop for beginners to makeup. Hi Renée,

It looks (and sounds) amazing! Thanks for sharing, although I’d wish it also take place in Europe! But…hopefully I’ll be in Singapore soon! :-)

Hi, I chanced upon your blog when i searched about hair stuff, and was pleasantly surprised that it’s a blog from singapore! awesome.
Do you have any idea if this event’s gonna come round again soon? Seems good, and I’m 18 so I’ve only ever experimented with makeup occasionally, but now that school’s gonna end, attending such an event is going to be so useful!
Keep up the good work! I’ll be following :D
