I am not supposed to write about this properly until next month, but today I had a shoot and the star was MAC’s Mineralize Eyeshadow in Quartz Fusion. It is a mixture of light pink, silver and deep pink and isn’t it gorgeous?! It was my first time using pink eyeshadow and I am absolutely in looove. I usually hate anything pink (and with shimmer) but I am buying myself this eyeshadow ASAP. It feels incredibly light on and is such a pretty, neutral color… not to mention it’s quite a big pot so it can either double up as blush/highlighter. Either that or you’re gonna have this beautiful eyeshadow for the next 10 years. (I’m not complaining!)
Do you wear pink eyeshadow? Try it! I think it would be perfect for a natural, everyday look.

Its gorgeous!
Thanks N, I love it! xx
I love pink eyeshadows and this one is very pretty!
Yeah! You really can’t say much about a soft pink other than it’s so “pretty”! Love it too
Such a pretty colour. I don’t usually wear eyeshadow because i have very small eyes and i think it looks odd, but when i do its black .. i LOVE black eyeshadow, and eyeliner! I went through a phase though, when i was obsessed with teal and turquoise (matte) eyeshadow, i still love it but not as much as black.
Hey Sona! Actually if you are concerned with making your eyes look bigger, lighter shades work better as darker shades “shrink” everything. (Like how black clothes makes you look slimmer.) I have to say though I am loving the pink my first love is still dark smokey eyes and eyeliner like you! My favorite is gray, a little softer than black but still very rock and roll! Isn’t it great how makeup gives us so many possibilities?
I’ve always been told the same about darker shades ‘shrinking’ your eyes, but honestly, darker shades make my eyes look bigger, I think it’s because they help frame them more or something like that, but yeah i’ve noticed when i wear lighter shades my eyes don’t look bigger or smaller for that matter, but darker shades make them ‘pop’ so they stand out more and actually look a little wider .. Although I have been experimenting this summer (well what little summer weather we have here anyway :/) and wearing my blush as eyeshadow, its a very light pink with gold undertones and a pearly finish and its absolutely beautiful!
It looks a bit orangey!
Yeah the MUA blended it a bit with a golden shade so it looked a little orangey… but mostly pink, haha!
I don’t use pink eyeshadow because it makes my eyes look swollen; as if I was crying.
I used to WANT to look like that back in my “punk” phase in high school haha. I’d wear the most hideous pale orange shadow all around my eyes. But I suppose it depends on the shade? I am sure you could pull off pink eyeshadow!
I haven’t tried wearing any eyeshadows! hahaha! I’m afraid it will make my eyes smaller. And I don’t want the fact that you have to apply so much on your lids.
I love your idea of making it a highlighter though. why don’t you make any tutorials?
I’d be first in your list!
Oh no no, eyeshadows do the opposite Roxy – they make your eyes look more deep set, more defined and definitely bigger!
You should try it out! It feels very light on your lids so you wouldn’t know it was there.
Haha and thanks! What kind of tutorials would you like? I am planning a YouTube channel but I have no idea what to make videos of! Any ideas? xx
well, you already answered you question. hahaha!
How about that deep-set eye make-up you are talking about?
Based on your photos you seemed to have a natural looking make-up — I would love that kind of tutorial. How about your skin regime? or what’s in your purse (only in a video), or about your day.
We are very interested!
Hope for that youtube channel!
Roxy you’re incredible. I really enjoy talking with you.
OK, I promise I’ll do videos. I’ve been talking about it for 2 YEARS but I have been putting it off because I am so unbelievably shy. Cameras scare me! But the shoot that I was talking about in this post was on film, and I was talking… it was my first time talking on camera and it wasn’t so bad. Fun, in fact. REALLY FUN! I will get to videos soon, and thanks so much for the suggestions! I was thinking more towards those type of videos too – not really “formal” or fancy ones, just one where I sit down and have a chat with you guys… kinda like my posts but in video form! xx
OHH i second that youtube channel idea! And as for the actual video’s, just be yourself, don’t worry about ‘impressing’ us, we’re already very impressed!
i would love to see you do tutorials because like Roxy mentioned, you seem to like the natural look, and thats the type of tutorials i’d love to see. Oh and you could do your reviews of products/samples you get, it would be so good
thanks Renee!
I once tried filming myself just for an introduction and it was really funny/ but mine was a different story. I don’t have the guts to do it.
You have so many followers here to back you up, and hahaha! to push you to have YouTube! yey!
So gogogogo!
Sona and Roxy, you guys are the best! Thank you for the encouragement.
OK… I’ll do it soon and keep it like my posts! Thanks for the feedback! I have an idea for the first one already
xx
I love pink eyeshadow! I just recently became addicted….. I think it’s very flattering for us brown-eyed girls. I sometimes mix it with a bit of sparkly gold.
I totally agree! I kept telling the makeup artist that I didn’t know it looked so good with brown eyes. And you are SO spot on, Erin – the makeup artist actually mixed it slightly with a golden color, that’s why it looks a little sparkly. You’re a pro already
After seeing all these transitions from your obsession with hard black to shades of pink and blue, I think you may be softening up a little.
Ah!!! You’re so right Katherine… I think I’m becoming a woman? Haha. I am definitely enjoying the wonderful world of color after all these years of black! However, it’s still my favorite color and my wardrobe is still mostly black. Can never give up my black clothes!
That looks so soft and pretty, I love it! I haven’t bought any mac in a while, might have to seek this out
It’s sooo pretty! I really love it, do check it out! xx
you are absolutely gorgeous, and I love how you did the makeup on your eyes! X
Oh thank you, Jennifer! He did such a good job… will post the video with the “instructions” of the look once they release it.
xx
Its good to know that u tried something different!!
Yeah! It’s nice getting out of you “usual” routine and trying something new – you might end up loving something new.
I dislike anything pink too but this one looks so pretty.
I wonder if it would suit brown-skinned individuals like me.
Thanks Amelie, it’s even more shimmery and pretty in real life! I am very sure it will suit your skin tone, too
You could always try it out at the MAC counter to see. Don’t know how it’s like where you live (I’ve heard some nasty MAC sales lady stories) but here they are very accommodating when you want to try out a shade (or 20 haha).
Wow thanks Renee! I think I’ll try this one out… and will share with you if I encounter a nasty and rude sales lady.
No problem Amelie! I’ve heard MAC people tend to be a bit snobbish, though I’ve personally not encountered any before… fingers crossed you have a good experience!
Oh, and if you do try it out and the color is too sheer for you, you can try to apply it wet (just wet your eyeshadow brush) and it will be slightly darker.
xx
Yes, I hope I won’t encounter a snobbish sales lady. I am a bit timid and tend to get scared easily…haha.. Anyway, thanks Renee! Greatly appreciate your help.
I love it! I believe that shade could look great on my blue eyes!
Love it! Plus I love how you could multi-purpose it(:
Girl! I definitely agree with you! I love your idea about the youtube reviews. I find Renee really good in reviews- she totally rocks it!
And yeah – you don’t have to impress us. You’ve got what it takes so just be yourself. We’re here for you girl!
I am so giddy right now! hahaha!
