While the world was at home watching the Royal Wedding on Friday night (and me furiously checking Twitter updates for all the details!) I was at Paragon in Orchard Road for Day 1 of Clinque’s “Find your Perfect Match” Workshop. I was super excited and nervous, because this was no ordinary makeup workshop – I was actually there to co-host the event! The people at Clinique have been reading my blog and knows how much of a fan I am of Clinique (exhibit A, B, C…), and invited me to be a guest speaker at their special event. (And of course I said yes!)
Set up at the lobby area of Paragon shopping center, the workshop event was on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and was a very cozy, intimate session where Jane Yap, Clinique’s Education Manager and I talked about foundation. We went through stuff like how to find that prefect one to fit your skin type, your formula preference, products to try and other foundation gossip! Though the event was pretty much an open space so anyone passing by was welcome to watch, I was given the opportunity to invite a few of my blog readers and that was extra special.
I was obviously super nervous while on my way there, but once it started, all the nervousness disappeared – it was so much fun and I had a blast. I was especially nervous at a rehearsal session we had because I have never been a “host” before but from what I was told after, everything went well and the event was a success! Thank you to everyone who made this possible and especially Clinique for this amazing opportunity – I seriously couldn’t ask for a nicer group of people to work with and I really enjoyed myself.
Here are some photos from the event that I’d like to share – I hope you like them! (Special thanks to Yasmin, PR-extraordinaire, who kindly took the following pictures on my camera for me, and who also took such good care of me the past two days – thanks Yas!)

My co-host Jane and I.

My friend from highschool, Rosemary and I – thanks for dropping by, Paris! (Inside joke, don’t ask!
)

Jessica, Rosemary, Kathy, myself and Xue Ting – my awesome readers! I was really touched that you all took the time to come down and hang out. It was so great meeting you, my favorite part of the whole event.

Guests were treated to makeovers after the demo – isn’t Kathy (right) so adorable?!

Day 2… the nerves started again for awhile ’cause my friends were watching! (And thank you Sophia for lending me your belt to hold up the mic!)

Demos on reader Ivy and Suhana. Jane is hilarious! Wish I could’ve recorded some of her funny “soundbites”.

My friends came down on the second day – Laura, Suhana and Gloria. Laura and Gloria are my close friends and you might recognize Suhana – she was Cleo’s Top Blogger winner for 2010! She’s also the first “blogger” friend I ever met. Thanks girls for coming down and hanging out!

Hope you had fun Renee, it looks like you did!
I love Clinique’s foundations, they always feel so clean.
Yeah, it was my first time trying out their foundation on my face on Saturday and I felt ‘clean’ thereafter! The host of the show, Jane, applied Clinique’s NEW Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector on my pore areas too. I was pleasantly surprise! It works like magic!
I agree! I really liked the new powder makeup, I hate thick foundation but that one is really light xx
Wow, looks like so much fun, wish I was there. and you look gorgeous, Renee.
Thank you, Kat! It was really fun, I am really blessed to have that opportunity. xx

Thanks, Ann! I did it myself but realized I forgot lipstick when I got there on the first day so I asked them to put something super bright for me
I had a GREAT time there…
Thanks Renee!
Yay! So glad to hear.
Was really nice meeting you, Kathy. Thanks so much for coming down! xx
You look great in these photos, Renee!
Aw thank you, Lola!

I was at paragon too! Too bad I was in a hurry and only managed a little peak at the counters..Would have stayed around if I knew you were hosting! I was trying to find the chubby stick you recomended and was disappointed that there seems to be a nationwide sortage
Aw, no worries! next time.
And YEAH I heard that nationwide it’s selling like mad and a lot of places are out of stock. I did speak to them about it at the event and they said they are bringing in more.
You look so great – tall and thin!
Hahah thank you, Margot!
xx
Ahh too bad I had to miss this! Looked like so much fun! Maybe another time then…
And thank you so much for your sweet message!
No worries, hope everything is OK. And yes, next time.

Seems like a really fun experience! So lucky of you to get this amazing chance.
And oh wow you look absolutely gorgeous! I love the bright lippie you were rocking on the first day! xx
Thanks Eve! I am really blessed and thankful that this opportunity came about and had so much fun! And thank you – I forgot to apply lipstick and they wanted to touch up my makeup for me, and since I was wearing a navy dress I thought orange lips might be nice (somehow I think blue and orange match? haha), so they applied a red/orange lipstick for me.
Renee, you’re gorgeous! I love the red (I think?) lip on you.
Thank you, Mary.
I loved the bright lips too! Every time I wear red lips I love it, I don’t know why I don’t do it more often…! It’s actually an orange/red lipstick called “Orange Burst” or something but it wasn’t orange enough for me, haha. I am going to look for MAC’s Morange, I am obsessed with orange lips! xx
This sounds like an amazing event, I wish I could have been there! And I also wish you would share more pictures of yourself
You are so pretty & I adore your outfits.
I wish you could’ve been there too! It would’ve been so nice to meet you.
And thank you so much! I have recently tried to only use personally-taken photos for the blog and get rid of all those stock or fashion editorial pics, so I am def planning to post more personal photos.
I hope you like them, and thanks for your sweet comment.
No one’s ever said that about my “style” – I normally just wear American Apparel, very boring haha. xx
You look so beautiful Renee! I wish I was there!!
Thank you, Samantha! I wish all of you could’ve come! It would be so cool to meet you someday
xx
