Last last month I had a feature in December’s issue of Scoot Magazine, with 4 other Singaporean bloggers in various topics (fashion, food, tech, etc), and I contributed my personal beauty picks for when you are visiting! I had a great time with Alex at the shoot (which I mentioned) here, and am very humbled by her kind words about me, below. I wanted to post the whole article up because I thought it would be interesting for those visiting Singapore (as I get emails time to time asking about my country!), enjoy…

As documented on this much-loved portal that was shortlisted by Vogue Italia as a blog to watch, beauty is a lifestyle. So naturally, full-time blogger Renee Lorentzen also takes her passion into the offline realm with collaborations and beauty events. Beauty Fool is really a conversation between this Danish-Chinese writer, who used to pen articles for a women’s magazine, and the ladies – women’s issues and wellness stand strong among this virtual trove of tips, product recommendations and reviews (sorry lads!). Her writing is personal, open and fun: from documenting: “My awful digital perm” to dishing out rice water for shiny hair, her entries always reach out.

Best Face Spa: Clarins SkinSpa does not do extraction or machines, so you’re getting a real natural treat. This would be perfect before a big event where you’d be photographed a lot, or just a nice treat for that well-documented trip.
Best Local Makeup Brand: Rachel K Cosmetics is making waves overseas due to her innovative CC cream blemish balm. This [beauty queen-endorsed] brand’s products are not only great, but affordable and easy to pick up at Watson’s, a pharmacy and drugstore chain with branches all over the city. I must say, though – personally, I love her lip glosses the best.
Best Hair Salons: Komachi The Hair Cut is great for styling for special events. If you’re looking for a simple fix, neighborhood salons are good bets too – affordable, quick and does the job, what more can you ask for?
Best Body Massage: SkinLab – the therapists are excellent, and the futuristic, cool ambience really makes a difference.
Best Pedicure and Manicure: I have been going to Serendipity The Nail Spa for years, and I love that it is cosy and away from the hustle and bustle of town. They have the best range of nail colors and magazines to read. (A slight correction on this; I do not regularly go for mani/pedis because I’m a cheapskate and I can do them myself. But I have gone to this place a few times over the past 10 (!!!) years and definitely recommend it.)
Best Foot Spa: Not only does Sole Service do foot reflexology and massages, they also come to your residence [or hotel]. That’s a winner for me.” (Check out my full review here).
I hope you enjoyed the post! Fellow Singaporeans, please feel free to add in your own reviews and recommendations. :)

Hey Renee, I really enjoyed this post and find it to be very helpful. Thanks.
I’d read this articles when I flew with Scoot a while back, haha!
Thank you for reading, Molly and Kerrie! :)
