Ah! My very first outfit post!  Here I am at my close friend Gloria’s big birthday bash at Marina Bay Sands – my first time there! Seriously that place is high, my ears were popping like mad as I went up the elevator! Anyway, I promise the “outift” style photos will be clearer and more focused next time, but I also wanted to show a picture of the birthday girl. :) Doesn’t she look beautiful? I am wearing a Topshop dress, Ecco shoes, necklace by House of Harlow 1960, a jewelry line by Nicole Richie that I LOVE so much.

You really got to hand it to Marc Jacobs. First, he makes amazing clothes, and his fragrances – and their gorgeous bottles – are so iconic. His fragrances are a bit different to his clothes, though – usually very sweet, innocent and fresh, and Daisy Eau So Fresh (don’t you love the name?!) is no different.

I was invited to the media launch of the fragrance a few weeks ago at Sentosa Cove (for those who don’t live in Singapore, Sentosa Cove is like the ‘elite’ area to live in, houses are millions upon millions of dollars there and it’s on the very exclusive Sentosa Island). So I have to admit, I was curious to see what the fuss is about Sentosa Cove. (And no offense, but it’s not my style – it’s too secluded, I’m a city girl!) Nevertheless, the event was held at a cozy cafe and we were treated to finger food (to which I ate, oh I don’t know, 30 helpings?!), special-blended mocktails for the event, and express manicures. It was a lovely afternoon, despite driving around like an idiot for over an hour, completely lost!

I was later given a complimentary bottle to try the fragrance out, though I already knew I liked the fragrance from the event! It is fresh – oh sorry, EAU SO FRESH – and light and feminine. I don’t normally like feminine scents but this… is feminine get grunge? You know Marc Jacobs! The ad campaign ‘describes’, if you will, the scent perfectly – pretty daises in a field in the middle of the day. Young, youthful, fresh and innocent. My only disappointment with it is that the scent has no staying power – two hours and the scent is long gone – so this tip to make fragrances last longer is necessary. Still, I really enjoy this scent and I know this is completely superficial, but a lot of the reason is because the bottle is amazing – it looks like a piece of art!

Have you tried Daisy Eau So Fresh yet? What did you think of it? I think I’ll also have to try out the original, and I’m still waiting to get my hands on Lola! (I have a bottle of it in London with my BFF, and I’m eagerly waiting to get my hands on it!)

Wow, I’m very honored to say that I have been featured on DYou.com, the online home of the teen magazine, DYou, owned by Disney. I am so touched by the kind words, thank you DYou! :)

(Just a side note though, I didn’t study in Australia, I studied at an Australian university in Singapore.)

Ack! It’s that time of the week already?!

If you’re like me and suffer from dry lips – and hate how lipstick can look on it – here’s something you can do before applying your lip products.

First, apply copious amounts of lip balm, and spend a few seconds ‘massaging’ it in. (I use Rosebud Lip Salve, which is amazing; try it!) Next, take a soft towel and rub it off. Not only does this intensely moisturize your lips, but it also gently exfoliates them to reveal a softer surface, allowing smoother, better application for your lip products.

Another tip I would recommend when applying lipstick on dry lips is to ‘pat’ the color on instead of applying it straight from the tube. This deposits less product, so it won’t highlight any dryness.

Have you tried this tip before? Personally, I have dry lips and I do this trick, especially when I try on bolder colors like my fave, red. :)

Last Tuesday, I got up bright and early for a 9am appointment at Sephora for a photoshoot for the URBAN story on Singapore’s top beauty bloggers. It was a busy morning, but I did manage to take a few quick snapshots to show you what went on behind the scenes! I haven’t had a photoshoot in ages (and I think I SUCK at photos) so I was really nervous, but also really excited at the same time. I hope you enjoy the sneak peak on what happened behind that cover shot!

The shoot was in ION’s Sephora – the largest Sephora in Asia! – and the above picture is what it looked like first thing in the morning. It was really fun to see how spacious and quiet (and somewhat haunting) malls are in the morning, I had the sudden urge to dig up my skateboard and skate around.

The makeup! My wonderful makeup artist, Beno, used MAC’s Wonder Woman makeup collection on me. I’ve never in my life used blue eyeshadow, but wow – it’s amazing! I love this look so much. (Oh and Beno and I realized we had actually worked together before – Beno actually did the makeup for the picture that was featured here. It was an old modeling shot from when I was 15! Small world.)

My awesome hairdresser, Brian. I told him: gimme big, wavy, messy hair! THE MESSIER, THE BETTER!

My outfit was from Topshop. It’s not personally my style, but it was really fun to play dress up for the day. Unfortunately I gave them the wrong clothes size so it was a bit oversized and had to be clipped. However there were no clips, so Beno gave us a hair clip to use.

Overall, a really fun day – thanks Urban for an unforgettable experience! :)
