Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Perfume

I don’t think anyone really knows this, but I am a major Taylor Swift fan girl. Her album Fearless is perfection in my books, and her song “You’re Not Sorry” is the soundtrack of my (relationship) life! How did she read my mind?! I LOVE HER!

So when I saw she came out with a perfume, Wonderstruck Taylor Swift, I didn’t roll my eyes like I do every time I see a new celebrity perfume (Pamela Anderson, who is buying your perfume? LOL). I know I had to get my hands on it. And if I thought that Britney Spears’ sweet perfumes were the best celeb fragrances out there, they now need to step aside – Taylor’s perfume is now the #1 celeb fragrance in my life.

Featuring notes of freesia, green Tea, apple Blossom, raspberry and dewberry, this scent is described as a floral, but I find it to be a little more fruity – the berries are very distinct. The scent is so undeniably young and girly, but not in a “you can call me Princess” kinda way. I’d say it’s definitely targeted to teens (the bottle is beautiful, but a little too “young” for me) but apart from that, you can’t really tell – it’s just a lovely, sweet scent. Just like Taylor! Lovely and sweet. What’s cool about the bottle though, is that is has a special iridescent rainbow finish to give it that magical glow to it – the first in the fragrance industry.

Dress Sense Singapore

Sponsored

Dress Sense is a super cool “buy or rent” concept shop in Singapore where you can choose to either buy or rent evening dresses, accessories and bags for a big night out – you know, without having to spend a bomb (or getting headaches on trying to find something to wear!).

From fancy evening dresses to sexy cocktail dresses to super fun party dresses, I think this concept is amazing, because not only is it fun to dress up (!!!) but it can also avoid that whole “wearing the same thing twice” at special events (if that’s important to you, of course). Dress Sense scours the world looking for the best brands, and holds one of the largest international brand collection in Singapore. And with new designers this year such as Pia Gladys Perey and Linya Disenyo two new exciting brands from the Philippines, why not start the Dragon year in a brand new party dress?

facial moisturizers
Moisturizer is a vital part of skin care for many reasons. First, it creates a barrier between the skin and the area that holds water in the epidermis. The right moisturizer should leave your skin feeling hydrated, smooth, soft and protect the skin from the harsh environment and pollution. Second, it is ‘the fountain of youth’ meaning that it helps skin retain it’s moisturize. (As we age, skin loses its moisture and therefore appears to have aged. Moisturizer reduces this process greatly.)

However, there are so many types of moisturizer on the market today, how do you know which one is right for your skin type? Though finding your ‘perfect’ skin care regimen for your skin does take some trial and error, I hope this list can help make that step a little bit easier. (If you don’t know what your skin type is, my post How to Find Your Skin Type might help.)

Dry skin

Dry skin needs a heavier formula, so oil-based moisturizers work best. Oil based moisturizers completely absorb into the skin and leaves it feeling ridiculously soft and supple. One that comes to mind is Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizer, which contains mineral oil. If you have dry skin yet are prone to acne, opt for a normal moisturizer (that is oil free) and apply two ‘layers’ (as opposed to one) twice a day, morning and night.

Sukin Botanical Body Wash

I mentioned way back that I spotted Australian Organic brand, Sukin at Watsons but didn’t get a chance to check it out until a few weeks ago. There was a sale going on for a mega sized tub of the Botanical Body Wash, but since I hadn’t tried it yet, I bought the smaller version just in case I didn’t like it.

And… well, let’s just say I am going back for the bigger tub later this week. ;)

The Botanical Body Wash is just that – a mix of fresh, luscious ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Rosehip Oil, Avocado Oil and Vitamin E. The wash lathers up nicely and quite simply, it is just works. The scent is out of this world – it reminds me of living in a jungle (um, make that a jungle castle paradise,) and taking an outdoor shower – this body wash smells close to nature, it’s indescribable. (But for those who want full descriptions, the scent includes essential oils of tangerine, mandarin, lavender and vanilla.) Such a simple, beautiful product.

Have you tried any products from Sukin? What were your faves? I’ll definitely be looking at their other stuff; so far I am really loving the brand!

My BFF from New Zealand is leaving tomorrow (sob), so yesterday we met to have one last dinner together. After stuffing ourselves, we decided to walk around town, and when I saw a small poster of Lush, I immediately remembered that Lush came to Singapore (geez, how could I forget?!) and dragged her to the store. (And yes, she was the one who gave me my first Lush product this Christmas!)

And, honestly? It’s alright. I wasn’t blown away. Not yet, at least.
