Want lips so red you can literally stop traffic?! Maybe not, but there is a trick to having super, sexy red lips that last hours upon hours.
This trick is so simple to do, yet no one ever thought of it (at least I didn’t until a few weeks ago!)
For super red lips, apply a red lipstain underneath your red lipstick. When your lipstick color starts to fade, the lipstain will still be there, providing enough color for super-red lips.
And that’s it. Simple, no? 
Do you like sporting red lips? When do you ‘wear’ red lips? What do red lips mean to you? Personally – red lips is all about class and sophistication for me, so I tend to sport red lips at more “dressy” and formal functions.

Red lips to me.. is bold and beautiful.. Okay I actually have a little story as to why I bought my first red lipstick…the first time I tried red lipstick at a store, my housemate said that it made me look like a skank! I got so mad at her for saying that I went right ahead and bought it cos I thought it looked anything but skanky! And sure enough, the next day when I was going out, her bf complimented me on it right in front of her! She didn’t look too happy about it though! :S
At first I thought red lips only complimented girls with fairer skins after reading your post I realised its about choosing the right shade! I would love more posts for girls with olive skins! Thanks!

Haha, I guess red lips can be “skanky” if you wear a bit too revealing clothes, it really all depends on your outfit, I guess! Like a Little Black Dress and red lips? Classic and beautiful! But with a mini skirt and fishnets and a tube top? A bit trashy, haah.
I’m glad you are able to relate to my posts! Yup, I def try to make everything ‘universal’ for those with different skin tones can all try something out, so I will do that more in the future!

shez right about that…bold and beautiful…it shows your confidence level to carry something that daring…i also keep it to the most formal events and specially when im in the mood to play with fire
the last time i wore it was at my university farewell and i was like a siren in the room. i tend to go for more brighter shades since im very fair so edging more onto tomato reds and i wear them matte. another trick that i use for longer lasting red lips is filling the lip with lip pencil completely before applying lipstick.

Sounds good! I too wear brighter colors since I’m fair as well, have you tried a red that’s a little to the coral/orange side? Yeowzaaa it’s so beautiful, I have one and everyone always says it’s nice when I wear it out! I think if you’re really fair a medium tone coral will look great on you too!

Hey Dip! MAC has some new ones, I’m not sure if they are good? If not I know YSL has one, and Bourjois has an OK-ish one. I also like to ‘make’ my own, meaning apply lipstick then swipe it off, apply again then swipe it again. It looks like a “natural” color on your lips and make them look really bee-stung and ‘stained’, hehe

Great fail-safe! I used to be obsessed with The Body Shop’s Lip and Cheek stain — it was all kinds of awesome.

Used to crack up at the jokes techies were hurling at the Ipad (i.e. an oversized Ipod Touch) but I’m tempted now that everyone’s getting one… of course!

I’ve never seen TBS’ lipstain! Hmmm… is it better than Benefit’s Benetint? I heard all sorts of great stuff on it but when I tested it out, it was just ‘meh’ to me.
Oh and OMGGGGG I love the iPad, best thing ever I think.
It’s pretty much a bigger version of the iPhone but i don’t have the phone so this is great! Especially if you’re lying in bed sick and want to watch a movie but not bring your whole darn laptop on your lap, great for surfing online when you’re on the balcony relaxing, bring it along to show your friend’s your holiday photos… endless, it’s awesome, get one!!! it’s like a mini computer with the essentials needed but without the bulk and hassle of a carrying a big laptop around. Oh and I love the Mac Pro too, I’ve been using this for awhile to blog on now! I started using mac 1.5 years ago and I’m not touching a PC again

It’s been years since I used The Body Shop’s lip stain, but I loved it all throughout highschool. How does it compare to Benetint? Hmmm I have never used Benetint, I just swatched it on my wrist and it was ‘heh’ to me LOL! jk. Anyway the cheek and lip stain was great, it did give my lips and cheeks a very subtle “rosy” glow — great underneath clear lipgloss (MAC’s Clear Lipglass was the shizz back then.) But it’s been so long, I’m not sure if they’ve changed the formula or whatever. Check it out, though. I’m sure they have it there?
Ahh now I’m green with envy….must….get….ipad…. I guess I’ll just have to keep stalking the Apple store near my house for the IPad experience. Hopefully they don’t kick me out.
And same here, won’t ever go back to a PC. If it’s not freezing up on me, it’s loaded with porny virus. Seriously! So embarrassing.
another trick. is apply toner to your lips then applying the lipstick color.
Toner can be use to help your lipstick, or lip gloss stay for a longer time.

And don’t worry, you can rock red lips pretty much anywhere! I just personally like to wear it on special occasions, but I think it’s fine for any occasion, really.
