London Calling

Though I definitely think the best is yet to come, (I’m still dying to go to the Maldives, ah!!!) one of the best was definitely visiting my best friend Christine in London. I love holidays in general, but spending time in a new city (though apparently I’ve been there before – when I was 2!) with your BFF is amazing. Nothing beats having a holiday with your best friend! I went to London in the Summer of 2009 right after going to Italy. Christine used to live in Singapore, where we met, but is now in London because she’s a big shot art student in a big shot art university – so proud of her!

I spent a week there and we basically did a lot of catching up – I hadn’t seen her in 6 months, and it was (maybe) the last time we would meet in a long time. We went to all sorts of food places – sushi, fish and chips stalls, Chinese, Mexican, English Pub food, Italian, Thai, you name it! And it was all wonderful, I don’t know why people say English food is not that great… I liked it! Every day would be a different “touristy” place for me: Big Ben, Oxford Street, Portobello Market, Camden, Selfridge’s, Hyde Park… what am I forgetting? And then in the evening on most nights we’d finish with dinner and go back to her place and relax because we were exhausted. The two exceptions were that one night I went to her uni for an art exhibition with her work (she’s so talented!) and the other night we went to see The All-American Rejects in concert. We also hung around her neighborhood a lot which was so nice – we’d go find Reese’s chocolate (YUM!!!) and sit and eat, buy magazines at the corner stalls, people watch, grocery shopping… all that nice stuff. Oh and by the way I love Tesco’s. Overall, it was such an amazing holiday – so relaxed and so fun. I really enjoyed myself. London is amazing!

Lunch at the pub near my hotel.

I stayed in Gloucester, such a lovely, cozy place. Every evening I would take a walk around and loved going to Tesco’s! :D

Sushi at Harrods. WTF were we thinking? That little plate of maki cost me SGD$22!

LOL Christine was not impressed by the opening act.

We’re not the biggest fans of AAR, but Billy Talent was sold out that same night! Grr… BT is one of my favorite bands so I would’ve died. However… Tyson Ritter eases all pain. He is ridiculously good looking in person. Damn! O_O

OMG these little things are the best. I forget what they are called, but basically they are chocolate fudge in solid form. They were delicious!

Hanging out every night with Christine in her apartment… so much fun! Nicki is Christine’s sweet roommate.

Christine looks so pretty here. :)

Haha this is such a random photo. This was one of our nights in; stuffing our face with fish and chips (SO GOOD!) and doing the usual girly things: chat, read mags, paint nails… we barely see each other so this type of activities are my favorite – just hanging out with your best friend. :)

Oohh yeah.

So happy I got to spend some quality time with my bestie!

Ah yes! That’s her :)

And ahhh at Harrod’s! Seriously, wonderful place but the prices are ridiculous! Give me Tesco food anytime, haha.
