I’m Dreaming Of A White Christmas…

Speaking of cold, cold, cold Denmark, check out what my Dad e-mailed me today: full-on snow in Copenhagen, Denmark this morning. I wish I was there right now! (With 5 layers of clothes, of course!) Doesn’t it look wonderful? I’ve only seen snow once in the mountains in Venice (random, huh) and I would love to experience a White Christmas. I can just imagine sitting by the fireplace with some hot chocolate, surrounded by your lovely family and your beloved dog snuggling up with you. Perfection!

However, I go to DK every year around Spring and the most I could tolerate is 8 degrees, and my Dad says it’s currently -2! My goodness. I’m a true blue Singaporean (I get freezing cold in shopping malls, for goodness sake!) so I’m not sure how I could ever survive this… but maybe one day. It just looks amazing.

Hi!
You’ve only seen snow once :o !
It’s been quite snowy here these last two weeks! Not too bad where I live (Bath) but London has had a fair bit of snow!
I hate the cold too! Its about -6 here tonight :(
My Dad works in Norway, and the other night he said it was -14! Yikes!

I love your new blog! And I love the design :) Sometimes simple is the best way!
Is there anyway to get email notifications when you have a new post?

Hey Kat!

Haha yes, only once, when I was 9 years old! What can I say? I’m an island girl :-P I can’t believe -14! My goodness, Scandinavia is cooold! The ‘highest’ I’ve been is Sweden but it was almost summer there so it was quite alright, though it was still cold for me!

And I am so pleased that you like this design… because I was actually thinking of putting Beauty Fool in this design. I’ve wanted to make BF a bit more to my taste for a while (I like websites like this one, to be very white and clean) but didn’t know what to do or where to start! It was only when I started designing this personal blog that I started to really like this design. What do you think if I put BF in this design? BF is fast becoming a bit cluttered because there is so much going on, so I would like to make it simple and cleaner. I’ve done a mock up and so far I love it…! But would love to know your thoughts :)

Oh and sure, I will sign up for a Feedburner account now and do it for you! It’ll be in the sidebar. :) Haha, I never thought that anyone would want to subscribe, but it’s a good idea, just in case. Thanks! :) xx

Well I like the design! And it is your blog at the end of the day! If you are unsure, you could implement it for a few days and ask people to comment on whether they like it or not? And you could just add another page to BF for all the things that are currently in your side bar! I think clean and white would look really good!
And thanks! I have now subscribed :)

Ooh it looks so dreamy lol!
I’ve never experienced snow.. and I’m like you, I can’t stand the cold!
My family and I take holidays during the winter here to escape the cold and it doesn’t even get that cold here in Brisbane..
Will see snow one day ;)
I’m loving your personal blog too! The design is sophisticated and nice and easy to read!
Bailey is so cute!! And growing fast!

Haha we are both island girls! I can totally imagine that, I said if I ever lived in DK, I would experience snow once and then go on holiday to an island every winter LOL. But I think snow is special, so it’ll be great to see it at least once! :)

And thanks so much! Bailey is SO big now, I have a new pic of her… I’ll post it up soon. I took it and realized how big she’s become… her paws are HUGE so I suspect she will be a big dog. And thanks so much for reading this blog! :) I am glad you girls like it! I was just asking Kat above if you think I should put Beauty Fool in this design because I love it so much! :) Do let me know your thoughts!

Hmm I like BF as is, its not too cluttered and quite simple for a beauty blog.. and the pictures keep it attractive, but if you put it in this design, I think it would also be really nice. But overall, maybe a change for the new year? I think maybe a beauty-related pic for BF like the way it is now is something you should keep though. I’m a very indecisive person, so my answer isn’t really one-sided lol, sorry! But give it a go and see how you and others respond to it :)

hahaha oh Renee,
I’m from Calgary, Canada, and recently Calgary was the second-coldest place in the world — second only to the south pole!! You’re afraid of -2? Try -32!!
Honestly though, you get used to it. In fact, I love winter! Skiing, skating, hot chocolate, snow-covered pine trees!
By the way, I really like this new blog! I have followed you Beauty Fool blog for a while now, and this one is definitely on my list of blogs to keep an eye on!

-32?!?!?!?!?! O_O OMG! How is that even possible?! In Singapore the ‘lowest’ it goes to is 26-28, and that’s at night. Pfft! Hahah. Here, right now our ‘winter’ is just constant rain, and I love it ’cause it’s so chilly, but then again ‘chilly’ is like 26 degrees, LOL! Winter with snow, with the activites you’ve described sounds like so much fun! I love ice skating :)

And thanks so much! I am really humbled that people are actually reading it… I thought no one would care what I have to say or share, haha. :-P Thanks Carly!

We have the occasional deep freeze here in Toronto similar to Calgary. Right now it’s only -5, but I’m sure we’ll hit -20 by Feb.

And it’s snowwwinnnnggg here like crazy. The dogs love it and it definitely feels more and more like Christmas.

Aw yeah I’m sure your dog must love it! Bailey might go insane… more insane than usual! And -20?! My goodness!

The first time I experienced actual snowfall was back in 2008 in London! I was jumping up and down in excitement when I saw the snow start to fall but I got over that pretty quickly when it became blizzard-like! Gosh! It’s actually really beautiful to see pure whiteness fall from the sky in fluffy little dots.. but only if you’re indoors! Outside, it’s freezing cold, wet and slippery!

I love snow when it’s fresh, like when it starts snowing in the middle of the night. When morning comes around and people/cars have mucked it all up, it’s all muddy and eeurgh! Very slippery too. I see girls trudging around with zero-grip Ugg boots slipping and falling! :/

But there’s this undeniably wonderful thing about snow. It’s such a lovely phenomenon (when it happens in moderation, of course) especially for people like us who grew up in tropical countries where we have only have sun and rain :)

Yeah! Snow is so different from what we’re used to and it’s just lovely! :) But only once in a while, I’m still an island girl haha. Although I have friends from countries that snow and they’re all amazed that it’s “like Summer everyday!” here, haha!
