Hands up those who is in love with Kristen Stewart’s eye makeup? (Those with your hands down: you’re weird.) The girl has permanently sexy, smokey eyes; and I for one can admit I’m jealous. Very jealous. Who does her makeup?!
Kristen has beautiful olive green eyes and one thing’s for sure; she has a damn good makeup artist! From all her recent premieres she’s been attending (or shall we say headlining!) she seems to stick to the same eye makeup: gray smokey eyes mixed with brown on top to bring out her beautiful green color.
I think the epitome of her eye makeup look was showcased on her recent November issue of Allure, which in a word is stunning. It shows Kristen as we know her – her messy hair, nude lips and intense eyes. Also, you can see that the makeup applied is how she wears makeup to premieres, so it does seem to be her ‘signature look’!
What’s great about this look too, is that the colors are ‘neutral’ so it can suit any eye color, not just green eyes. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Gorgeous! To get her eye makeup look, you need these products:
- metallic gray eyeshadow
- matte light taupe/brown eyeshadow (a slight shimmer eyeshadow will do too)
- highlighting eyeshadow (any color that is shimmery peach/white/champagne will do)
- black shimmer eyeshadow
- matte black pencil eyeliner
- mascara/false individual lashes

So here’s what to do. The chart above shows you exactly where you are applying your product so you don’t get confused.
- Apply your metallic gray eyeshadow all over your lid. After applying it to your lid, take a smaller eyeshadow brush (or a Q-tip) and lightly draw your lower lash line with the eyeshadow. Take your finger and slightly smudge it all – in the chart above, you should have color as shown in the ‘green’ areas.
- Take your light brown eyeshadow and apply it on top of your gray eyeshadow, (‘pink’ area in the chart above) at the crease of your eye. Blend downwards into your gray shadow so they look blended in together.
- Take your highlighting eyeshadow and apply it to the inner tear drops to your eye, like in the ‘blue’ above. Blend in.
- Next, take your black eyeshadow and a very thin eyeliner brush, and apply black shadow to your top and bottom lash lines. On your top lash line, blend a little more shadow into the outer corners of your eye, like shown in ‘yellow’ in the chart above.
- Take your eyeliner and line your top and bottom lashes, on top of what you just did with the black shadow. You may also line your waterline if you want to!
- Finish off with tons of mascara. Kristen also uses individual false eyelashes on the outer corners from time to time, so have fun with those too!
Video Tutorial
I found this awesome video by JuicyStar07 that explains it really well, and it seems like the colors she chose is really close to what Kristen has on – a really good tutorial indeed!
Et voila! Sexy eyes ala Kristen Stewart. Now go find yourself some strange but ridiculously good looking vampire boyfriend! What do you think of her eye makeup? You can probably tell I’m a big fan, no?

Yeah her eyes are amazing. She is a beautiful person inside and out. I’m just tired of all the criticism she’s been getting because of the things she say, she’s obviously nervous do give her some time before you start throwing her under the bus. She’s a fine young actress and I’m sure she’ll win all your hearts once Eclipse and Breaking Dawn hits boxoffices.
Can anyone notify me when are auditions for Breaking Dawn and where will they be held ?
Yeah I’ve heard that but I like the way she’s still real – if she’s nervous and awkward; what’s other people’s problems? Not everyone’s over confident and makes a lot of noise. I feel like she’s a breath of fresh air to all the fake plastic smiles you see in Hollywood!
And I’m sorry Johnny but I have no clue about auditions :S
Johnny, im not sure, but id like to find out too; i ve sorta been looking into it. What are you interested in for breaking dawn? if you find out about the auditions, let me know! im still looking,
I love the look, seems quite easy to recreate ^^ Thanks for the little tutorial :p
it does look simple! I’m gonna try it out tomorrow
yey! our company is holding a twilight themed xmas party next month and i can surely use this technique! thanks!

yup! i’ll be bella and hubby will come as jacob black! sooo excited!
Here makeup is so easy to make it, also looks a bit lil natural but chic
I agree, it looks naturally… SEXY! Hehe.
Yo beautyfool, love her, love the eyes but hate the movie shes in. Its crap haha..sorry to say but I not a fan! I really loved how you explained in detail her eyes. I would love eyes like that, but Im satisfied with what I was born with HAHA. Keep up the nice reviews.
Take care renee
YOUR NO1 FAN DANIELLE
Haha I can’t say I love the movie either but I like the story line. And thanks! Glad you enjoyed
And yes, always be satisfied with what you’ve got
This is my favourite look of Kristen: http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s96/Spinazie/0011-680×1024.jpg
I’ve been trying to recreate it ever since I came across this picture but I just can’t seem to do it with the makeup I own
Roxanne — that’s the same look as above! If you look closely she has the same elements like I wrote above (I too loved this pic, esp her hair as well and looked as this event as I was ‘researching’ her looks hehe). Basically it’s brown eyeshadow to the crease and lid, and then gray shadow all around, then black smudgy eyeliner. Did you understand what I wrote above? I can re-edit it if you’d like for more detail? I think the photo you added looks a lot like the ones above, but I think she did a bit more of a richer brown color and did more of brown than gray. You can always experiement with what you like but I feel it’s the same two colors; so if you have a brown and gray eyeshadow you should be fine! Let me know how I can help!
And yeah, sometimes you’ll need to REALLY look close at her colors, but you can always ‘sub’ them for what suits your skin tone more. For example, a shade of brown and gray that suits you more (rather than what looks more like what she’s wearing) will look better! If you have a bronzer I know she uses it as eyeshadow (the brown color), because I remember reading an interview about that!
This is a little late in the game considering the last reply was in Nov 2009, but it’s worth a try.
My eyes have the very same droopy/druggy look as she does. With eyes like mine, it’s always odd doing eye makeup because I either end up looking like I have no eye balls or I have to exxagerate and distort until my eyes don’t look like my eyes. I believe Stewart has nailed it but her colour choices are more suited to her eye colour. I have medium-olive coloured skin with dark brown/black eyes. May I please ask you to suggest some colours I could try with the same method, but keeping the difference in mind?
Hey Saba, sorry for the massively late reply, I just saw your comment.
Brown eyes actually look really good with this look, as gray and brown suits this eye color as well. I have brown eyes too, and do this and I think it looks great!
Other colors that suit brown eyes are metallics coppers, tan, golds, greens, khakis… Hmm… I should write a post about this!
I tried this the other day and it looked pretty good! My bf told me that my eyes looked sexy, and he’s one of those guys who goes,”wtf, she’s got make-up on?!” I also tried it on some of my friends, and one of them has these really bright blue eyes. It looked AMAZING on her, her eyes really stood out. I think it works well with most eye colours, especially hazels, grey and brown. I think if some-one has really dark eyes, they could go for tan or maybe even a goldy colour, depending on skin tones and hair colour. I <3 kristen stewarts make-up, it stands out without being way too bright and ugly. And it looks sooo good on her with those eyes!!!
“naked lips”? she is wearing lip gloss. don’t lie to me
Hey Fred, I didn’t say naked lips, I said “nude lips”! It’s a makeup term for saying she’s wearing flesh-colored lipstick and glosses, aka it looks “nude” but it’s definitely not naked, she has products on her lips!
Sorry for the confusion.
I like her eyes,Actually she has sexy look.
Wow! Thank you! I’ve been admiring Kristen’s look for a while now, the look is sexy but neatly escapes being over the top. You’ve done a great job with the tutorial. Can’t wait to see how it looks on me!
i appreciate the eye tutorial…ill continue to favour my heavy eyeliner (‘hey! i like all that black shit.’ – for those of you who remember ‘breakfast club’), but ive needed a change and i really like kristens look…thanks…
Hi-
As someone who runs a Twilight blog, I too am a huge fan. I absolutely love Kristen Stewart, and her eye make up. I’m getting married in the Fall and hoping to find that perfect grey color. At the New Moon Premiere it was more of a matte grey..I have yet to find it. Email me if you know where to do…I have been too lazy to scower through Sephora…
Cheers!
Jen
This helps me because I’ve been trying to find homecoming makeup and this is perfect for my dress. I’m so happy I found this because it will deffinetly help me do this makeup
