Diminish the Look of Cellulite in An Instant!

May 13, 2010

If you, like the rest of the world (myself included) shed a tear after news broke that despite all the creams and claims, there is no cure for cellulite, then this may offer a ray of hope.

Take a peak at your nearest beach and unfortunately you will spot this one out quickly: those without a tan or those with generally paler skin-tones tend to have the most cellulite, and it’s only because the shadows of the dimples contrast with the light skin tone.

So since cellulite is camouflaged a little more on darker skin tones, what can the rest of us with lighter-to-medium skin-tones do? Apply self tan, of course! Applying self tanner and making your skin-tone slightly darker and diminish the dreaded orange peel look and the tiny shadows it creates. (Remember, fake tan only!)

Will you be trying this out since it’s bikini season soon? Sure, this may not be that ‘ground-breaking’ of a tip but I tried this myself and it made a world of a difference. :) Better than nothing, no… What other options do we have?! (Damn you, cellulite!)

Makes sense. Why fight it when you can just hide it?? lol

True, it’s an easy fix… you’re on the beach anyway, a tan shouldn’t be too ‘obvious’ :-P

we either should learn to embrace it and ‘flaunt’ it to the world or cover it up! =P

Yeah, I thought about that while writing this post – we should learn how to just get over it and love our bodies as they are! But I know no matter what anyone says, cellulite is one of those “ARGH!!!!!!” problems that many women just want to get rid of, so thought I’d share something that has worked for me.

that’s so true dear…anyway cellulite is not merely ‘restricted’ to the thighs…it can appear on the arms too right? many years back I used to apply biotherm celluli choc..it sort of help to diminish the cellulite..but its temporary..once the lotion ‘disappears’ the cellulites come out to play again..I heard applying products that contain caffeine does help..It sort of ‘plump’ up the skin around the area allowing the cellulite to be conceal…

Yup, I think caffeine helps give a ‘firmer’ feeling to the skin but unfortunately all of that just helps it temporarily. And yeah, I think cellulite can occur anywhere really, but the most common is thighs and bum, where the most “fat” is, I read. :(

I have never applied self tanner but I need to learn because i would never burn in the sun like I used to do when i was younger… I havent wore shorts in five years because I hate my legs and i have a lot of cellulite and im tooo white! Here we are in the beggining of winter so I have like 6 more months till summer. My plan this year is to lose weight, buy an eletric massager and learn how to apply self tanner correctly and even!
It´s good u mention that, because I always forget that those kind of products even exist… the only thing I never forget is my sunscreen fps40 lol !!!!!

Good girl, sunscreen is the most important! :D

I’m sad to hear you hate your legs, though, learn to embrace them! :( If cellulite is the problem then try the self tanner trick, and maybe just start walking/cycling to make them strong and healthy… maybe I should do a post on body love? :D

No way. I love my pale-ness. Self tanner just takes too much time, there’s way to many steps involved. I don’t have that kind of time as a nurse, and besides, if you don’t like it, don’t look! 98% of women have it. It’s a fact of life. Sure, if you really are insecure, use the self tanner, the lotions and potions etc, if it helps you feel better about yourself. But seriously, who cares? Women are the only ones who notice, and shallow, ignorant men.
Embrace yourself, cellulite and all.

Agreed, Fyn. We should accept our bodies the way they are and I fully encourage that! But like I wrote above (comment #4), no matter what I (or anyone for that matter!) try to preach about self-love, some women just hate cellulite, so I wanted to share something that helps for those who really want a quick fix.

I agree with you Renee, getting a fake tan is a great way to reduce visible orange peel skin. It masks your problem areas and often gives people a healthier look altogether. So much safer than tanning beds too.
