After the tragedy of losing my favorite black jacket in a cab in late 2009, I was on the hunt for a new jacket. You know the kind – something you can throw on when you’re chilly and it’ll match any outfit, is comfortable, makes you look great, and not ridiculously expensive. Of course, I almost gave up on my quest to find one (shopping and I are enemies – I never find anything to suit me, so I generally hate shopping, except online of course!). However, the other week after work, a week before Christmas, I walked through a mall to get to my carpark and saw that Mango was having a mega sale. Hmm… I think. Shall I try my luck? My luck I did try when I realized the sale was up to 70% – sweeeet.
In I went to the raging crowd, and lo and behold, I spot this jacket. It was simple, black, with some zippers and looked soft and comfortable. So I tried it on… and voila! My new comfy, go-to jacket has been found! It’s still not as wonderful as my other one (one never forgets their first love), but I still adore it.
Do you have a staple jacket as well? Or you’re not into jackets, what do you normally wear over your outfit when it’s chilly?

I have a super cheap black bomber from charlotte russe, but it is the perfect thing to throw over an outfit to go quickly from day to night. I put it on with jeans and a tee or even a dress and I’m instantly ready to go out!
Have a certain jacket from Zara, although it is pin stripe, which I could wear with a lot, but I’m actually quite lazy and hardly remember to wear. Maybe I need one in simple black, food for thought
