Three Cheers for Workouts that Are Actually FUN!

Cheerobics Workout DVD

Cheerobics
, a brand new workout DVD that promises just that – aerobics and cheerleading dance moves that is “fat burning fun!” while giving you a serious workout.

I received Cheerobics DVD a few weeks ago and was really excited when I found out about it – as you know, I pretty much hate exercise even though I really need it (actually, we all need it! Yes, you too!). And who else is so bored of running, walking or swimming? I know I am!

Don’t be fooled though – this is a full on workout. The first time I tried it out, I stopped after 20 minutes because I am completely unfit, but have been keeping up at it and am getting better. The moves are taught very well (there is a specific section of the DVD for you to learn the moves first), but unfortunately I have two left feet, so this took me a while before I really “got” it. The workout itself starts off with cardio, then floor exercises and finishes off with a nice 7 minute stretch – you’ll love it! The DVD also comes with your very own cheerleading pompoms, so expect to work those arms a lot!

Overall, I am enjoying my time with Cheerobics (hmm, is my inner cheerleader coming out?!), and frankly speaking, I find these types of workout videos MUCH more fun than any old aerobics workout DVD where you’re just doing boring repetitive stuff. Because it’s like dancing, it doesn’t really feel like a workout. Just a word of caution though, if your an absolute beginner like me, just remember that it might take awhile (as in weeks) to get the steps perfectly right but once you do, it’s a really fun and pretty intense workout. I reckon “cheerleading” may just be the next new fitness craze!

(Oh, and speaking of boring workout videos – how cheesy is the music! there is no cheesy music on Cheerobics, as it features very current artists like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry – I really enjoyed that!)

So! Time for the ratings. Because I kinda want to piss off the guys complaining over the A&F drama, so no donuts today, but boys! So I give the Cheerobics Workout DVD 5 out of 5 hot, topless, chiseled Abercrombie and Fitch models!

Have you tried Cheerobics? What did you think of it? Oh, and do we have any cheerleaders or ex-cheerleaders reading? :)

  1. haha! boys for donuts!

  2. LOL Renee!! I approve of guys instead of donuts!

I haven’t heard of cheerobics but it sounds cool. Usually I run, but that can get boring. Learned how to swim this past summer so I have been all about that, even in the bay area’s cold winter weather. Also getting into Zumba! Check that one out. It’s all the new rage in the states!

A healthy mind is a healthy body!

    • Stacey! I tried Zumba but I am so ridiculously bad, haha. I have two left feet! Haha I’ll keep trying though, it was a lot of fun! Since cheerleading is slightly less dance-y and more routines and steps, it’s slightly easier for me, haha!

Do you do Zumba DVDs or do you go to a class? I tried a DVD but I think classes would be better?

      • I work at at school and we’ve been having Zumba dance night fundraisers for our sports programs. Just came back from a class tonight. Soooo much run. I run, swim and kickbox so my cardio is pretty good, but I will admit Zumba is no easy task!! Dead tired. Going to eat some ice cream then straight to bed!!

  3. This sounds awesome, I’ll have to check it out! Unfortunately, we don’t have cheerleaders in the UK but I’ve always really liked that part of USA’s culture, so hopefully, this’ll allow me to get a taste of a different culture! xx

    • Hey Yasmin! I too think it’s a really nice taste of their culture. This DVD is actually in the UK too, I think they are part of a movement where they are trying to spread cheerleading in the UK. Which I hope they do, it seems like lots of fun! :)

  4. This sounds like a really fun workout. How does one go about getting a hold of it? Anyways, 3 cheers for cheerobics and 5 cheers for the hot and topless A & F models.

  5. Hi! I have been following your blog recently as i was looking for makeup tips for my ROM day, and i’m glad to say i’m still following your blog now even though it was a random stumble upon! I approve the guy rate score instead of donuts! I’m totally into pissing guys off Over the A & F drama. How double standard Of them! Hope more naked guys conquer our advertising scene in Singapore! :p

    • Hey Mandy, wow thank you so much for reading my blog! That makes me so happy. :)

Haha… I LOVE to make those who were complaining about the A&F guys angry. They should know how it feels once in awhile! :D

  6. nayla khatib says:

i LOVEEEEEEEE THISSS! wish i could get it. sounds like fun.

  7. JenniWren says:

I haven’t tried this, and I can’t say it appeals to me very much! I’m chronically uncoordinated, so the idea of taking a dance or aerobics class, or any unholy combination of the two, makes me break out in a cold sweat! I do like yoga, but generally prefer solo work-outs that have a clearly defined goal at the end of them- which is why I like running, supplemented by light weight work for the most part. I did take an aquasize class a while ago that was hella fun- obviously I was terrible, but no-one could really see because of the water and I couldn’t stop giggling!
But this post did remind me that I really need to get back to my exercise- I’ve let it slide since the summer because A) it’s cold out there, man! and B) I started waitressing a few months ago, and it’s exhausting enough by itself- very hard to talk myself into getting up early to fit in a workout when I know I’m going to be running around with plates all day as well!

    • JenniWren OH I can relate. I have two left feet, seriously. It is tough in the beginning but once you get used to it, it’s fun and I could remember the steps on my own (which usually never happens haha). And I can totally relate on the aqua aerobics class! I did one too and it is SO much fun like you said, but I was absolutely terrible. However, like you said, the water and the splashes covered me hehe.

  8. Sounds so fun! I wish I could have one but cheerleading is not very popular in Argentina…lol.
Whatever, is the first time that I leave you a message (I follow your blog since 2010) and let me tell you that you should use male models instead of donuts for the rest of the century at least ;)
Ok, what can I say? I adore your blog! Great tips, always interested in readers opinion, fun but organizated; it’s very sad that I cannot purchase a lot of your reviewed products ’cause they are not avaiable here; but… Good news: Because of the reviews and photos I could find very similar products in Buenos Aires (specially with nail polish)
So, good luck Renee and keep on posting, girl!! There is a girl who’s reading your blog from the other side of the map!!

    • Hey Bella,

Omg, thank you so much for your sweet message! Wow, you’ve been reading since 2010… thank you! It really makes me happy to hear that. :) You are so sweet.

I am sorry that a lot of the products I feature is not available in Argentina. :( I try to make my blog as international as possible, but sometimes it’s hard! I always post a link to the company though, so if you are interested you can check it out to see if it’s in your city. But I know how you feel! When I read US magazines and blogs I am always so jealous of the great things you can get in America. Thankfully now with online shopping, things get a little easier. :)

Thank you for your lovely comment Bella, I really appreciate it. :) Hope you are having a lovely weekend! xx
