…As if I need another place to spend money (I don’t have) on!

Sigh.

I am not a big fan of shopping. I know I’m a girl and it’s supposedly in my DNA, but I really don’t like it too much. The crowd! The queues! THE HEAT! I can’t. Shopping is so tiring in this humidity, I tell you. I only like shopping with my Mom,’cause she’s very much like me: we get our crap and get the eff out! One hour is our limit for shopping. But online shopping? Now that’s another story…

I discovered eBay when I was 16 and went slightly mad. Within a couple of weeks, I blew about a thousand bucks on the most random, stupid things – like snow boots. SNOW BOOTS IN SINGAPORE? Really, 16-year-old me?! My parents were livid and banned me from eBay, and because I still had a lot (read: 15) items still unpaid, I got blacklisted from eBay and they closed my account.

But that didn’t stop me. I made another account secretly, only eBay found out it was me and I got a “BANNED FOR LIFE” email. Sheesh! I was so obsessed that I spent 3 months emailing back and forth with eBay Singapore, trying to get an account and convince them I wasn’t a criminal. Eventually I gave up, but it’s YOUR LOSS eBay! ‘Cause now I’ve found Etsy. ;)

I have been hearing about Etsy for ages but never dared to sign up, due to my crazy online shopping ways. But the other week, at 2am, I had to. I was so excited. I didn’t have anything I wanted to buy per se, nor did I know any cool shops… so I “searched” whatever came to my mind. And what do I think about at 2am?! RAINBOW SPRINKLED DONUTS. Yummeh. I searched and found these cute little donut necklaces. Unfortunately the one on the left was much larger than I expected – a little too ridiculous if you ask me, not sure when I will ever wear this – but the mini donut necklace is adorable.

In other words, I am so happy with my little donuts. You should check Etsy if you are into fun, unique stuff. It’s like eBay plus the cute, crafty factor. I love it! (I wonder how long before I am banned for life?)

Do you shop on Etsy? Do you have any favorite stores? Please share!

Ah! My very first outfit post!  Here I am at my close friend Gloria’s big birthday bash at Marina Bay Sands – my first time there! Seriously that place is high, my ears were popping like mad as I went up the elevator! Anyway, I promise the “outift” style photos will be clearer and more focused next time, but I also wanted to show a picture of the birthday girl. :) Doesn’t she look beautiful? I am wearing a Topshop dress, Ecco shoes, necklace by House of Harlow 1960, a jewelry line by Nicole Richie that I LOVE so much.

Personally, I love ‘em! Nice ones, of course. I especially love words and small symbols. I don’t have any myself (I think I change my mind way too much; that and the fact that I am petrified of needles!) but if I were to have “fantasy” ones, I think I’d like a Bible verse, and a little symbol here and there. I keep thinking a tiny anchor on my ankle would be really cute. :)

What do you think of tattoos? Do you have any yourself? Are there any meanings behind them? Do share, I’d really love to hear!

Finding a pair of shoes is a big deal for me. I’m a size 39EU, and sometimes 40, especially for sport shoes. Since Asians tend to wear smaller sizes, shops normally just bring in one pair of the ‘big’ size, 39, and on rare occasions, 40. So shoe shopping for me is all about luck – not only do I have to be lucky to see if the shop brought in my size, I also have to hope that no one got it before me! Because of this, I hardly go shoe shopping.

So I was extremely pleased last month when I walked by Calvin Klein and saw their shoes were on sale. I love the word ‘sale’ (who doesn’t?!) so I walked in to try my luck, and success! They carried my size! I tried on many pairs, but settled on this pair of blue flats – I really love the bright, electric blue. Since I wear a lot of black, these shoes will be a nice pop of color to my outfits. And if not, I wear a lot of blue as well so it will match! Bottom line? I adore my new shoes! Such a great buy. :)

What was your last great buy?
