Dress Sense is a super cool “buy or rent” concept shop in Singapore where you can choose to either buy or rent evening dresses, accessories and bags for a big night out – you know, without having to spend a bomb (or getting headaches on trying to find something to wear!).
From fancy evening dresses to sexy cocktail dresses to super fun party dresses, I think this concept is amazing, because not only is it fun to dress up (!!!) but it can also avoid that whole “wearing the same thing twice” at special events (if that’s important to you, of course). Dress Sense scours the world looking for the best brands, and holds one of the largest international brand collection in Singapore. And with new designers this year such as Pia Gladys Perey and Linya Disenyo two new exciting brands from the Philippines, why not start the Dragon year in a brand new party dress?

So there is a lot of buzz in Singapore surrounfing the new Abercrombie & Fitch store, ever since it was announced that they would be coming to Singapore.

First, Singaporeans were angry because the ad (above) for the store showed a topless man. It started countless discussions on how it was objectifying men; making men who don’t look like that feel bad; it was indecent, yada yada yada. So much flak was being said that they eventually had to take it down.

And now, at the opening of the A&F store, they flew in all sorts of models to… well, look good and promote the store. I have been seeing on Facebook, Twitter, and my guy friends all commenting on it, saying they are offended, how it’s insulting to “regular” men, and that it’s disgusting how they would objectify men like that. One Facebook comment I saw was that the A&F men made him feel insecure ’cause he doesn’t “have a six pack” and that stuff like this is destroying men’s self esteem…

The past few weeks, I’ve been dreaming of Travis Barker. Nothing creepy, but he’s somehow always there… like an extra at a party or one night he was my college classmate stealing my pencils?! Super weird. I began to think that maybe I was in love with him, you know, subconsciously? Can you be in love with someone without knowing it? But then, I got this shirt in the mail and I knew it – my subconscious has been eagerly awaiting this shirt! That must be it.
I ordered this about 3 months ago and after many complications, it’s finally here! I got it more because I love Blink-182, but I also think Travis Barker is a fantastic drummer. The shirt is so in your face and I’ve gotten all sorts of “who is that?” comments. It’s an instant conversation starter, and I was in town today wearing it and I got a lot of stares. Don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing, but I don’t care! It’s my new favorite tee!

OK fine… I’m kidding. I’m so lame, I’ve always wanted to say that. But anyone who knows me will know my NUMBER ONE fear in life are needles… so it’s safe to say I will never getting a tattoo. Which is fine, because now I can have Skin Art Temporary Tattoos.
Skin Art is a celebrity inspired temporary tattoo set and I am SO happy to be introduced to it by PR superstar, Amy. She sent me a press release and I HAD to be shameless and ask if I could have a sample to review because as you know, I simply adore tattoos but I’m too damn chicken to get one. I’ve wanted to look for temporary tattoos, but all they have here are the kinds for little boys, aka spiderman and dragons and stuff… no thanks. Skin Art, however, brings us temporary tattoos that actually look COOL.

The set comes with 99 designs, ranging from angel wings, anchors (my favorite!!!), tribal designs, stars, hearts… just cool, little cute symbols that are so my style. As Amy explains, the point of the tatts are to “recreate celeb looks without the permanency. Fashion and beauty should be fun and allow you to try new things without the fear of scarring yourself.” Isn’t she clever?! I totally agree – these tatts are so much fun and are prefect to play around with and change up your look. ALSO, it takes less than 30 seconds to do (I’m serious) and they last a very long time. I tried on a little peace sign on my wrist about 3 weeks ago and though it’s only about 40% gone – not shabby at all. So I’d say they are perfect for 2 weeks.
In conclusion; because they are SO much fun, because they are easy to apply, because they last a long time and because they are so affordable… they get top marks in my book! Probably my best “style” find… ever. I’m seriously obsessed. You can get them at Boots, or online at Boots.com or Amazon.co.uk.
Tell me – are you into temporary tattoos? What’s your “dream” tattoo? I’ve always wanted an anchor on my ankle… and now I can get it!

Got my hands on that “last” J Dauphin bag I was talking about earlier and I am so happy I did! It’s called “We Could Be So Good Together” and it’s just perfect – I showed it to a friend and she said “that’s very ‘you’ isn’t it?”. Indeed! I am in love with it. It was much smaller than I expected but I think I prefer it – it has forced me to not lunge around all that crap and keep it simple: cellphone, iPod, wallet, lipbalm and keys.
What’s amazing was that since it was the last piece, I got a 75% discount. The original price was $1500, which there is NO way I would pay for, even though I really love this bag. It’s just way too much for a small bag. So I’m so happy I got a massive discount! I’ve been using it all week and it seriously suits everything I’ve worn, it is sturdy as hell and I can see myself using it for years and years to come – leather, studs and chains never go out of style as far as I’m concerned!
So yeah – another great buy! Anyways, my Cole Haan shoes and this bag were my “birthday presents” from my parents, and I love them so much! That being said, and I don’t plan on shopping for awhile. I am not that big a fan of shopping in general, but I have to admit how fun it is to have shiny new things.

Spent some time this evening cleaning out my closet to dig for “decent” clothes… I suppose I should make an effort on how I dress. (And by effort I mean wearing actual jeans, rather than jeans shorts all the time.)
Anyway, I discovered I actually have a lot of clothes, which I never realize ’cause I wear the same four things on rotation. But no more, I say! I looked through everything, organized some sort of system for it all, and discovered some great pieces that I totally forgot about – it was kinda like shopping again.
So yeah… this is my closet. Any guesses for what my favorite color is?!

I can’t sleep. My body is exhausted but my mind is wide awake. So of course I’m surfing the Interwebz! I discovered J Dauphin awhile ago and after looking around, I’ve decided that my “birthday” bag will be from her AMAZING line. Remember I mentioned earlier how my birthday present was supposed to be a handbag but I couldn’t find anything I like? Well I LOVE her line, especially her handbags – black, chains and studs?! It’s perfect! I haven’t even seen anything in person but it’s already my favorite accessory line. J Dauphin a Swedish/French designer and there is ONE shop in Singapore (that I know of) that sells her stuff, which so happens to be walking distance from where my appointment is tomorrow. If that ain’t sign I don’t know what is.
