floxia disco hyperpigmentation skin discoloration

How refreshing that a skincare product with ridiculous claims actually work.

After trying out many “fade out” creams for those annoying post-blemish reddish marks (that don’t seem to go away after a full 3 months – very annoying!) and none of them working, I had to go to Plan B and ask my doctor for help.

I was at my doctor for another reason, but I decided to bring up the topic and she gave me a tube of Floxia Disco Hyper pigmentation Skin Discoloration Fade Emulsion, which “helps to fight dark spots, unify skin tone, protect from persistent skin darkening and repair cells for better resistance against UV rays.”

I had been lazy and only applied it once every few days in the beginning, but this week I’ve been good and been applying it like its directions say, twice a day, and guess what? It’s actually working! I’d say a good 80% of the marks are gone – I’m amazed, to say the least! It’s quite a small tube (40ML, 1.35FL.OZ) and I got it for $50, but I say it’s worth every penny.

Have you tried Floxia’s Disco?

dolce and gabbana light blue perfume

Though Light Blue is a fairly old fragrance, it is one of the top selling fragrances for women in the US and Europe – and I know exactly why.

Light Blue brings back tons of memories. At 15 years old, it was my very first perfume I ever owned. I first saw it in an advertisement in Teen People magazine (RIP, my love) with a sample fragrance strip, and it was love at first whiff – I adored the clean, fresh scent and immediately asked it for Christmas.

Notes include Sicilian Citron, Bluebell, Granny Smith Apple, White Rose, Cedar wood, Amber, Musk, resulting in a crisp, fresh, everyday fragrance. There is something so undeniably “clean” and proper about this fragrance, yet is so charming and feminine thanks to the musk. The design of the bottle is simple and stunning, and fits the scent perfectly.

The fragrance has had a “either you love it or hate it” response, but I adore it – it’s a perfect ten in my book.

lancome viruose mascara

Virtuôse is a Lancôme first. With its CurlGuard formula which promises to “lengthen and hold a divine lash curve for 12 hours”, its curved KeepCurl brush that “provides an outstanding eyelash curler effect”, and it’s long lasting formula is “virtually smudge proof, tear proof and easily removable”, it’s safe to say it’s slowly becoming my favorite mascara.

Having completely straight eyelashes that I had given up on (and had stopped using an eyelash curler cause of it), I decided to do the full works – using an eyelash curler and then applying Virtuôse. I was very pleased with the results – the brush really lifted my lashes and curled it well, and amazingly enough most of my eyelashes actually budged and held a curl – a very big curl, as well.

After 12 hours I did have a bit of smudging, but before that the mascara was pretty much perfect – curled, nicely defined, no clumps and my lashes looked naturally long and curled.

Another winning mascara from Lancôme in my books! Any thoughts on Virtuôse?

benefit boi-ing concealer

When my beloved concealer from Clinique finished and I was too lazy to go to town and stock up, I dug around in an old makeup bag and found a pot of Boi-ing that I had hidden there ages ago. (It was pretty disgusting – the product is at least two years old and the top layer was crust.)

However, desperate times calls for desperate measures, and so I cleaned it up – especially the top layer of nastiness – and the rest of the concealer was as good as new.

Benefit claims that Boi-ing is the “world’s best concealer” and right now I would have to agree. It covers all color – whether it is dark circles, blemishes or discoloration- like a dream and is so easy to use (pat it on with your fingertips and you are good to go.)

One gripe I have with the product, however, is that Boi-ing is a little drying, so my advice is to warm it with your fingertips so the product is a little more “wet” and to pat it lightly on your skin, rather than rubbing in. Other than that, Boi-ing is a star product and I love it! Now if I can only figure out why it’s called Boi-ing…

Have you tried “the world’s best concealer”? What do you think of it?
