I ordered some of their stuff online after seeing all the raves and kind had a mixed experience since I DETESTED some of the scents. Couldn’t test them out so had to take a gamble you see. For the not so good, I HATED the porridge soap and the 9 to 5 cleanser. The porridge soap smelled so sickly to my nose and stunk up my entire bathroom I had to threw it away. Not to mention the oats bits were really a mess to clean up after a shower too.Kinda put me off using soaps so till now I still have Honey I Washed the Kids and Rockstar soap unwrapped and unused in the bathroom after sI long! The cleanser, I was just really glad when I was done with it, the scent’s unbearable!

The famous Snow Fairy shower gel was a pretty neutral item to me, got a 100g bottle last Christmas and still have more than 2/3 of it left now. Don’t know why but just really never feel compelled to pickit upand use it. x

The Therapy massage bar was really moisturising and had a lovely chocolate orange scent, though luckily not like sickly sweet! I can’t stand those! Not the most user friendly though since its melts so easily making it difficult to store. I stored mine in the fridge! x

LONG comment I know xD but one thing I absolutely LOVE is the New
shampoo bar. Lathers amazingly! And volumizing effects were awesome! Can’t wait to check out a Lush store in person! x I wish I had a bath so I can try our their bathbombs and ballistics!

Thanks Eve! Oh no now I’m scared about the smell! I hear they are very strong. I adore scent so I think I’ll love it, but you just never know haha.

The massage bars and shampoos seem to be the most recommended, I’ll def check those out…. I also like the sound of Rockstar soap haha. Thank you for your recs!

Lucky you! I’ve been a long time Lush lover :)

I’m a huge fan of their facial cleansers – Angels on Bare Skin, Dark Angels and Ultrabland are my faves. I also love their shower gels. I totally recommend Flying Fox, The Olive Branch and Snow Fairy. Snow Fairy is a Christmas only release, so I always make sure to stock up so that I have enough to last the year. It smells so pretty.

I went through a phase where I was obsessed with their massage bars, but I’m not much of a fan now. Likewise with their bath bombs. I love the idea of them, but they’re kind of a pain to clean up afterwards!

I like the sound of Snow Fairy – and I really hope they bring in the Christmas stuff too… since it’s soon Xmas :D

I can imagine their bath bombs being quite messy! I’d still love to try it… unfortunately I don’t have a tub anymore :(

OH, YES! Good for you – Lush is right to expand so more people can sample their lovely stuff.
Personally – I love the fact that LUSH is so brilliantly eco-friendly. They test everything on ‘willing’ volunteers’ – ie. LUSH addicts like me – they have a great work ethic, they work closely with so many animal and human rights companies and on top of that, their products are amazing and all natural – and if they aren’t, it says on the packaging.
One of my favourite soap bars is called ‘Honey I Washed The Kids’ – IT SMELLS LIKE BUBBLE TEA. YES, I KID YOU NOT. I walk out of the shower and people want to know what perfume I use. I tell them it’s LUSH and they don’t believe me.
As mentioned before, Angels On Bare Skin is brilliant. I really recommend you try it out if you like lavender scents and clay masks. It’s really cleared up my skin as well – I don’t know why, but I think it’s the lack of chemicals in the formula. :)

Honey I Washed the Kids? HAHA I love these names!!! I like how it’s natural and doesn’t have chemicals too :)

I <3 LUSH. I reccomend the shower gels, happy hippy has a refreshing scent and lathers really well. It also leaves my hair squeaky clean. Favourite product is probably jungle conditioner, it takes a bit of getting use to since it's in a bar form but it leaves my hair really soft and doesn't weigh it down. Plus I leave it in a bit longer when I have time as a hair mask which make it even softer :) I tend to veer towards the more citrusy refreshing scented products.

Their shampoo bars also work really well, I found my hair doesn't become as oily anymore but again it's a bit strange using them at first as I didn't rinse the product out properly so I was put off for a while but I now use it all the time :P

I really like a lot of Lush products- they feel very luxurious for a comparatively small amount of money (at least, in the UK it’s not too expensive). I use their soaps instead of shower gel; at the moment I’m using the new Ring of Roses bar, which has a lovely, delicate scent. I also love their shampoo bars- the Ultimate Shine bar lasts for ages and is great for travelling. Their acne/blemish-targeting stuff tends to be really good, I especially like Herbalism because it’s not too harsh. The bath bombs are great because they’re so intense, but they can be a pain to clean up after.

One thing I would say about Lush is that it is not the brand for you if you don’t like A) strong scents and B) a very pro-active sales pitch. The emphasis in the store is on customer service, which is brilliant, and the staff are always incredibly knowledgeable about the products, but I for one can feel a bit uncomfortable if I just want to have a browse. I also know a few people who simply cannot take the combined smell of all the products in the store and won’t spend more than a few minutes in there. I would also add C) packaging to that; most of the stuff comes wrapped in paper, which is very eco-friendly, but if you have a very tidy or minimalist bathroom you might be put pout by having all these half-wrapped blocks of things lying around.

I have a feeling the prices are gonna be high here since they’re importing :/ I’ll have to check it out.

Someone on Twitter told me she gets a headache from the scents after 5 mins, so I’m interested to see how it’s like. I ADORE scents so hopefully I’ll be OK, but if it’s just everywhere and all different, it might be overwhelming. :(

I might be OK with the packaging… I have a shelf in my shower that can get as messy as it wants haha!

Thanks for all the tips, JeniWren.. they are awesome, I never knew about all this. :)

I LOVE Lush too, it smells divine but it’s much easier to pick your products when you can go in and smell them. I am a huge fan of the bath bombs and the bubble bars (I am a bath addict).
The vanilla/choc love heart massage bar is heavenly and the lip scrubs are amazing – I use the choc/vanilla sugar lip scrub.
Can be a tad pricey at times but its all natural so its worth it.
I love that there are stickers on each product saying who made the product you’re using and on what date with a little cartoon picture of the person.
ie. Made by Anna (cute picture) on 09/11/11.

Ahhh Vanilla AND chocolate message bar sounds amazing… I’m a bath addict too UNTIL my bathroom got renovated and they took out the bath tub. Boo! Lip scrub sounds amazing as well… I can just imagine how good this all smell! Thanks for your recs!

I love how they have stickers about who made them! That’s awesome.

Actually Lush was sold in S’pore in the early 1990s. I remember there was a Lush shop at Suntec City. So it’s making a return to S’pore :)

Oh awesome, thanks for sharing, Cynthia! I was 2 years old in the early 1990′s so I def didn’t know about Lush then haha. I also heard a few years ago that a small shop at Holland V had it? Did you know about that one? xx

YAYAYAYAY LUSH IS AWESOME.

i use the rehab shampoo and the retread conditioner. the conditioner smells HEAVENLY.
it’s a MUST HAVE. not to mention it’s all natural so super good for your hair!

Their moisturising body bars are awesome too if you cant be bothered to moisturise after you get out of the shower. you can just grab one of these babies and rub it all over your skin while in the shower. quick, easy, and leaves your skin feeling super soft and supple.

have fun trying it out!

I have to agree with an above comment about the ethics of the company, they have such amazing ethics and its reflected in the stores. Their staff are SO helpful and friendly and genuinely passionate about the products. As for what i would recommend .. it’s quite a list lol :
- Each peach massage bar – really softening on your skin (like all their massage bars) and lovely fresh, citrussy smell
- Heavanilli massage bar (sadly being discontinued here in the UK ,but you might have it in your store) – smells like vanilla mmmmmm :)
- Soft coeur massage bar – it has REAL chunks of chocolate in it! I want to eat it! lol
- Eu Roma toner water – SO refreshing
- EVERYTHING from the karma range! It’s the signature line in LUSH and its like all the smells of the store combined
- I love juicy shamppo – i don’t even know how to describe the smell of this shampoo, its amazing! This to me smelss just like the actual store itself, and the scent doesn’t dissapear, it lingers on your hair till your next wash
- ultimate shine shampoo bar ( their solid shampoo) lasts absolutely ages and OMG my hair after using this is so soft and shiny! The only other time i get shine like that is when i straighten my hair, and since i’ve stopped straightening my hair and my hair is naturally wavy/curly, this shampoo bar is my baby lol
- Golden wonders bath bomb – its the xmas special and i LOVE it, I won’t ruin the surprise that is Golden Wonders.
- Porridge soap – smells so yummy, i know another comment said its to sickly, but i don’t think it is, i think its the perfect soap for autumn/winter time, its got such a warm smell, and its so creamy! But i agree the little oats are messy but rinse away real easy.
- Dirty bodyspray – YES ITS FOR GUYS, but it smells SOO good! they’ve got a new soap in this range now too with the same name (dirty) and I got a big chunk of it :D
- Lust perfume (i prefer their solid perfumes) – just smells so lovely, warm and floral, i think its jasmine ..
- Vanillary perfume – again in solid form, dunno why i prefer the solid ones but i think they smell better and last longer too.

wheww .. well you did ask what we recommend lol :P .. honestly, best thing to do is work your way round the shop, and don’t be scared to ask someone in store to show you how something works, they love helping, they always have tester on the go, they demonstrate how the bath bombs work and everything, and it’s always nice to get a nice little hand massage while your there lol .. have fun!

Wow Sona, thank you so much for taking the time to write down your list! I’ll write them down on my list – the Vanillary perfume and massage bar sounds AMAZING. I love anything Vanilla :D The Dirty Bodyspray sounds awesome too. Thanks Sona :) xx

Yes, Lush stuff smells divine
BUT
did any of you girls try storing a soap in your cabinet for more than 6 months?
I did it because I love the scent of soap in my clothes. I constantly haul so many things, that I don’t get to use everything I buy on the spot. So I got a porridge soap and a lemon soap, I cut half of each to use, and I left the other halves in the cabinet. 6months later, that delicious scent which had made me purchase the items anyway was gone.
I also bought the Aromarant armpit deodorant. Nothing ever made me stink so badly. Back to the Crystal deodorant then.

Hey Renee! I know you’ve got lots of comments already, but i thought I’ll chip in ‘cos I’m using one of their facial moisturisers.

It’s called Celestial (haha) and I love it because though it’s pretty thick and heavy, it doesn’t leave your face sticky the morning after. Instead it feels nicely moisturised. A little bit of it goes a long way! It has a mild scent so it doesn’t irritate my skin. Anyway, I’ve attached a link of the description so you can have a look! (:
