Brow Highlighter for Fresher, Brighter Eyes

July 8, 2010

Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I have been entertaining as my best friend from New Zealand has been in town, and have been getting ready for my graduation! The week seemed to pass by and I can’t believe it’s Beauty Tip of the Week time!

This beauty tip is extremely easy to do. It’s done a lot in makeup application to ‘lift’ your eyes, and doubles up as an ‘anti-aging’ makeup trick for those who want a bit of a brighter appearance around the eyes. All you have to do is apply highlighter shadow on your brow bone (right under your eyebrow).

Benefit has a product just for that called High Brow, but really, any shimmer eyeshadow can do the trick. Just apply it straight across underneath your brows, and make sure to blend – you don’t want a very unnatural line of shimmer underneath each eyebrow!

Thanks so much, Dip! :D Same with the shadow for me. Although I only tried it a few times because my eye shape is a little weird so highlighting the brow bone makes everything look kinda wonky. XD I love the idea of High Brow but it’s way too expensive!

Congrats on graduating!

I usually just stick a bit of Benefit High Beam on my brows, or Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. High Beam is my absolute favourite highlighter though :)

Thank you, Cheryl! Oh I’ve heard amazing stuff about High Beam too, though I heard it clogs your pores slightly :( Have you ever experienced that?

I’ve been using it for years, and personally I’ve never experienced that. I only use a tiny amount on my cheekbones, browbone, and sometimes on the inner eye and cupids bow though. A little goes a long way!

It’s my all time favourite highlighter, I feel a bit naked if I ever forget to put it on! It really brightens your complexion. I’d like to try Moon Beam sometime, but I don’t it’d look as good with my skin colour.

Congrats on graduating!

I always apply an eyeshadow shade on my browbone. These days I only stick to the white shade in the Sleek Curious palette. It is the most beautiful shimmery white shade I have ever seen and is perfect for highlighting.

Congrats on graduating! :)

I highlight my brow bone every time I have makeup on, even when I don’t have any eyeshadow on my lid. Adding this tiny little step into your makeup routine really does make a difference. :D

Actually you don’t have to use Benefit high brow highlighter. You can use any white colour or beige eyeshadow or use white liner and blend.

Yup, I never said you had to use the one by Benefit! Just thought I’d mentioned it as it’s a product created just for that purpose; though any shadow will do just fine. :)

I always adore hilary duff’s makeup. I really want to try that benefit highlighter, I feel like a cream would look better as a highlight than a shadow will.

Have you tried that benefit highlighter? People always have great things to say about Benefit products!!!!
I like this trick, I usually apply eyeshadow or Kevyn aucoin celestial powder! It´s great!
