My Very First hair Treatment at Beijing 101 Hair Consultants!

I know what you are thinking – what am I doing at Beijing 101 Hair Consultants? I was invited down for a hair treatment last month, and was excited because I didn’t know what to expect. (Yes, even if you don’t think you have any hair or scalp concerns, you can pop in and have a check to see just how healthy your scalp and hair is.)

When I first got there, I was greeted by Beijing 101 Hair Consultants and taken to a cozy consultation room. There, I had to fill out a form on my hair details – whether I had hair thinning, dandruff, etc, and how many times a week I washed my hair – gulp, I ticked off “3 times a week” but we all know I’m lying! Does dry shampoo count? Ha! My hair consultant said that actually, you should be washing your hair – especially your scalp – everyday. Oops.

After the form was filled out, I had a scan of my scalp, where the hair consultant and I could see what the situation of my scalp was. I was told that the most common problem in Singapore was an oily scalp due to our hot weather, and lo and behold, I am one of them. Ew! I asked how could this be, as I don’t have oily hair at all, but you can never tell until you look closer!

The treatment itself was my favorite part (obviously!) with the head massage being the best bit. I was taken to the hairdresser area, grabbed a few hundred magazines on the way and sat down for my treatment, which altogether come to around 1.5 hours.

I don’t want to focus too much on the treatment but the actual results itself (’cause they were amazing), so very quickly: the treatment included a hair mask, a double-shampoo washing session, a head massage and a tonic treatment. My favorite bit out of all of that was the hair tonic session, as it felt tingly and nice on my scalp! I have never tried hair tonic before and it felt really nice – I suppose it’s all psychological, but the tingly feeling made it feel like it was really penetration my scalp and working. Afterward, my hair had an infrared session which allows the tonic to penetrate the scalp even more.

After the treatment, I went back to the consultation room and had a scalp scan once again, to see the results (yes, they are immediate!). I was surprised that the clogged pores looked more cleaned out, but overall the change was small, but definitely visible. My hair consultant said that it’ll need a few more sessions before they’d be any drastic change to my scalp, but the fact that it responded so well is a good sign! The only thing I was warned about is that the hair tonic has a very strong smell and it will stay with you for a few hours, which could be annoying! However it didn’t bother me too much, I’d say within 3 hours it was long gone.

And now for the best bit – the results.

I met up with my mom right after the treatment, and she gasped and said my hair looked ridiculously fluffy and shiny. And I agree – there was something so “hair commercial” about my hair. If you look closer at my photo above, you’ll see that my hair has some crazy volume on the top and looks really thick and fluffy, right? This NEVER happens to my awful flat hair, so that in itself impressed me greatly.
