Behind The Scenes: The URBAN Shoot!

Last Tuesday, I got up bright and early for a 9am appointment at Sephora for a photoshoot for the URBAN story on Singapore’s top beauty bloggers. It was a busy morning, but I did manage to take a few quick snapshots to show you what went on behind the scenes! I haven’t had a photoshoot in ages (and I think I SUCK at photos) so I was really nervous, but also really excited at the same time. I hope you enjoy the sneak peak on what happened behind that cover shot!

The shoot was in ION’s Sephora – the largest Sephora in Asia! – and the above picture is what it looked like first thing in the morning. It was really fun to see how spacious and quiet (and somewhat haunting) malls are in the morning, I had the sudden urge to dig up my skateboard and skate around.

The makeup! My wonderful makeup artist, Beno, used MAC’s Wonder Woman makeup collection on me. I’ve never in my life used blue eyeshadow, but wow – it’s amazing! I love this look so much. (Oh and Beno and I realized we had actually worked together before – Beno actually did the makeup for the picture that was featured here. It was an old modeling shot from when I was 15! Small world.)

My awesome hairdresser, Brian. I told him: gimme big, wavy, messy hair! THE MESSIER, THE BETTER!

My outfit was from Topshop. It’s not personally my style, but it was really fun to play dress up for the day. Unfortunately I gave them the wrong clothes size so it was a bit oversized and had to be clipped. However there were no clips, so Beno gave us a hair clip to use.

Overall, a really fun day – thanks Urban for an unforgettable experience! :)

MAC Wonder Woman! Did you buy the makeup color after seeing how it looks amazing on you?

Yes, you do look like you’re having a lotta fun!

No, I didn’t because I wouldn’t know how to replicate this look! :( I’d make a mess, haha. It’s so nice though, I have to try it sometime.

Renee,
I’ve definitely been eyeing MAC’s Wonder Woman line – more for the nostalgia than the actual makeup. Any products you’d like to recommend from the line? :)

Ahh Renee how exciting! I would love to be made up and dressed for a photoshoot. Maybe one day…I still haven’t checked out the Wonder Woman line but to be honest the packaging did put me off. Maybe I’ll stop by and see what it’s like in real life. Like Theresa said, any products you’d recommend?

Hey Theresa and Luana, I def recommend the eyeshadow palette – LOVE the blue! I also think their bronzer is amazing, it’s slightly bigger so I think it will last a long time and great value for money – it also gives a very natural color and has a highlighter color in it as well. I am not sure about the name, but they have a bronze colored lipstick (pictured above) that appeared really bronzey-nude on my lips – it looked too dark but looked really nice on person!

Would def recommend the eyeshadow palette, and do go to the counter and play with the colors, some really nice bold shades (they all looked really over the top but when applied it looked really nice and natural!)

Let me know what you guys decide on :D
